DRAMA
Katrina VanderVelden
I am currently the worship coordinator at Westwood Christian Reformed Church and I hold a Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Ontario (yep, I'm Canadian!) I have a lot of experience working and watching with live theater growing up a part of the Drayton Festival Theatre tradition and participating in plays myself. I've tried to incorporate dramatic themes into worship services at Westwood and understand the impact that acting can have in communicating things in a unique way. In my spare time, I enjoy watching documentaries, going to dinner with friends, playing board games, and swimming laps every morning. I can't wait for the camp this summer, and the opportunity to show kids how they can act for the Lord!. |

MUSIC
Tricia Tetzlaff
I am excited to begin teaching with the Westwood Fine Arts Camp. I have been a part of the Westwood family for over a year now and also have worked here as the adult choir director since March 2009. I has two music degrees, one in vocal performance from Grand Valley State University and one in music therapy from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I work as a singer, music therapist (specializing in Alzheimer’s care), and piano and voice teacher. My husband, Todd, and I have two young sons. In my rare but spare time, I enjoy reading, creative writing, and playing games with my family. |
VISUAL ART
Dona Zwart
I have been a member of Westwood CRC for many years now and am currently retired from formal employment but enjoy reading, music, knitting, (in winter), gardening, walking, and scrapbooking.
I was employed at Friendship Village for 20 years and for many years did the seasonal decorating for the village. This included floral arrangements, spring and fall theme decorating and the very large project of getting the village reading for Christmas. In past, I have also volunteered for the Kalamazoo Christian Schools and here at Westwood, contributing to the visual arts through making flower arrangements, decorating for seasons, and creating a visual environment for people to worship in. I love many forms of art and always enjoy seeing how children can express themselves and show the wonderful gifts God has given them through different venues..

CREATIVE MOVEMENT
Morgan Schmidtendorf- Week 1
I am a student from Western Michigan
University. I am majoring in communication and minoring in dance. I taught
dance at Vicksburg Community Schools and choreographed Hackett's musical,
Cinderella. I have been Hackett's color guard coach since 2009. When I am not
choreographing, I am dancing or going to the beach to read a good book. I love
to have fun and to share my love of dance!

CREATIVE MOVEMENT
Lea Thomas- Week 2
I am a senior at
Western Michigan University studying Film, Video, Media Studies, and Dance. I grew up in the southwest of Michigan in a small
town called Stevensville and was a member of the Lakeshore High School Pom Pom
squad and performer/choreographer with the Berrien County Dancers from
2006-2008. I was also the dance captain and Ruth in
Kalamazoo Civic Theatre's 2009 production of It's a Wonderful Life; tap
dancer/Flossie in Western Michigan University's 2010 Spring production of Chicago,
and most recently had a 7 month internship performing at the most magical on
earth, Walt Disney World! I also had a chance to choreograph Disney's
Camp Rock: The Musical for the amazing performers of Kid's on Stage Productions
in St. Joseph, this past March. Choreographing and teaching is one of
my life's greatest passions and I am glad have another opportunity to share my
talents with the kids at the WFAC! We are going to have a lot of fun dancing and praising the
Lord!
